This summary helps you find your way. The full text below is what applies.
Your responsibility
Your business should keep appropriate backups of business-critical information and check from time to time that they can be restored. Keep at least one copy away from the main computer, such as on an external drive kept separately, so that one failure does not take everything.
What the products provide
- BILL OS includes backup tools: backups that run automatically on a schedule and before upgrades and restores, a checksum check for each backup, an optional second copy to another folder or drive, and a safety copy before every restore. These protect you only if the second location is set up and kept separate from the main computer. BILL OS does not encrypt its database or backups, so protect the computer and backup locations.
- DINE OS lets the owner export the database and restore it; a restore keeps a safety copy and needs a restart.
- Backup features of products that are not yet available will be described when they are released.
This website does not offer a hosted or cloud backup service. Unless a written agreement with us says otherwise, backing up the data in your installation is your responsibility.
Limits of recovery
Data stored on your computers can be lost through hardware failure, theft, fire, malware, deletion or other events. We may be able to help you restore from a backup you have, but we cannot always recover data that has been lost or damaged, and we do not hold copies of data kept in your installation.
Liability
Loss of data is subject to the limits in the Software Licence and to the extent permitted by applicable law.
