Who we are and what this covers
This policy is published by Chameron Digital, the digital products and software brand of Chameron Industries Pvt. Ltd., Bathindi, Jammu, Jammu & Kashmir, India. It explains how we handle personal data in two separate situations:
- Website and enquiry data: information about visitors to chamerondigital.com and people who contact us.
- Product and application data: information that a business enters into our software, such as BILL OS or DINE OS.
They are handled very differently, so this policy treats them separately.
A. Website and enquiry data we collect
Information you give us
- Enquiry form: your name and email address, and where you give them, your phone number, business name, city, state, business type, product of interest, number of outlets or counters, preferred contact method and time, and your message. The form also records the page and button you used and any campaign tags in the page address, and whether you asked for product news.
- Messages: what you send us by email, WhatsApp or phone, including your contact details.
- Purchases and invoices: if you buy from us, the details needed to issue an invoice and keep business records, such as your business name and address and any tax registration you give us. Card or bank details are handled by the payment provider or bank you pay through, not by this website.
Information collected automatically
- Delivery and security data: the website is served through Cloudflare, which processes technical data such as IP address, browser type, the page requested and the time, to deliver the website and protect it from abuse.
- Rate limiting: the enquiry service uses your IP address briefly to limit how many enquiries can be sent from one connection.
- Bot protection: when online sending is switched on, Cloudflare Turnstile checks signals from your browser to tell people from automated programs.
- Campaign tags: if you arrive from a link with campaign tags (for example, utm_source), the website keeps them in your browser’s session storage until you close the tab, so an enquiry can say which campaign it came from. They contain no personal data.
- Analytics: the website does not currently use analytics. If that changes, this policy and the Cookie Policy will be updated first.
Calculators and the product finder run in your browser. What you type into them is not sent to us.
How we use website and enquiry data
- To reply to your enquiry by the method you choose, and to provide what you asked for: a demo, pricing, an invoice, software access or support.
- To keep records of our dealings with you, including invoices, as the law requires.
- To keep the website and enquiry service secure and to prevent abuse.
- To send occasional product news by email, only if you ticked that box. You can ask us to stop at any time.
We do not sell personal data, and we do not use it for advertising profiles.
Service providers
We use these providers to run the website and handle enquiries. Each processes data under its own terms and privacy policy:
- Cloudflare: hosting, delivery, security and Turnstile bot protection.
- Resend: delivers enquiry emails from the website to our inbox, once online sending is switched on.
- Our email provider: receives and stores the emails we send and receive.
- WhatsApp: if you choose to message us there. WhatsApp’s own terms and privacy policy apply.
- Payment providers and banks: if you pay us online or by bank transfer, the provider you pay through. Where online payment is offered, the provider is named at the point of payment.
Some providers may process data outside India. We may also disclose personal data where the law requires it, or to protect our rights, our customers or the public.
How long we keep it
The website does not keep enquiries in a database. Enquiry emails and our replies are kept as long as they are needed to deal with your enquiry and any business relationship that follows, and longer only where the law requires us to keep records, such as invoices. Technical and security data is kept by Cloudflare for limited periods under its own policies.
B. Product and application data
Our software is used by businesses to record their own information, such as products, sales, customers, staff, orders or students. For this data:
- BILL OS runs installed on a Windows computer at your business. Other phones, tablets and computers on the same network can open it in a browser while the main computer is running. Business data entered into it is stored in that environment, as the product is designed.
- DINE OS runs a desktop app with its own local server and database, installed on a computer at your restaurant. Business data entered into it is stored in that environment, as the product is designed.
- GYM OS, EDU OS and GROCERY OS are not yet generally available. How each one stores data will be described before it is offered to you.
We do not automatically receive the business data you keep in a locally installed product through this website. We may see some of it if you choose to share it with us, for example in a support request, a screenshot or a backup file you send. We use shared data only to help you with the matter you shared it for.
Some product features connect to the internet, such as checking for updates or sending a message or document through a service you set up, like WhatsApp or email. If you need to know what a particular feature sends and where, ask us before you use it.
The business using our software decides what data it records about its own customers, staff or students, and is responsible for doing so lawfully and for keeping its computers and backups secure. See the Data Loss and Backup Disclaimer and the Security Policy.
Security
We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect personal data, described in the Security Policy. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Your choices and rights
Subject to applicable law, you can ask us to:
- tell you what personal data we hold about you and how we use it;
- correct or complete it;
- delete it, where we are not required to keep it;
- stop sending you product news, or withdraw any consent you gave.
Write to privacy@chamerondigital.com, or use the enquiry form and choose “Privacy request”. We may need to confirm your identity first. If you are not satisfied with our answer, you may also have a right to complain to the authority responsible for data protection.
Children
The website is meant for businesses and is not directed at children. Please do not send us a child’s personal data through the website.
Changes to this policy
If the website starts collecting anything new, this policy is updated first and the date at the top changes.
