BILL OS 1.5.0 5 October 2026
Inventory release: stock receiving, stock tally, defective stock, supplier returns as debit notes, lots, SKU and barcode management, bulk variants, import and labels.
What is new
- Stock receiving: scan a delivery against the supplier’s bill, mark damaged units, enter batch, expiry and GST, and record a payment made at delivery. Finalizing adds the good stock and records the purchase once.
- Stock tally: count your shelves, see what is short or extra, and approve adjustments with a reason. Selling during a count is fine.
- Defective stock and supplier returns: damaged goods leave saleable stock once. A return is a debit note with GST that lowers what you owe the supplier, with its own PDF to send on WhatsApp or email. A return can be cancelled with a reason.
- SKUs and barcodes: a new product gets an SKU automatically, and a barcode if you ask. Codes are never repeated in your business, and “Generate missing SKUs & barcodes” fills the gaps.
- Sizes and colours: preview every combination, untick the ones you do not want, and give each variant its own SKU, barcode, price and opening stock.
- Import products: create, update or both, matched by SKU or barcode, with batch and expiry, a check of every row first, and a report of the rows with problems.
- Labels: print labels straight from a finalized receiving; big print runs are much faster.
Fixed
- “Reset data” now clears receivings, tallies, defective stock and returns too, and keeps stock and its history in agreement.
- Pop-up forms always fit the window: they scroll inside, and Save and Cancel stay in view. Escape closes only the top pop-up.
- Typing in the search box at the top could show an error screen.
- After restoring a backup you can always sign in again; BILL OS restarts by itself.
- “Forgot password” no longer says an email is on its way when email is not set up; it shows where the reset link was saved on the computer.
Upgrading
- The upgrade keeps all existing data. Codes that were already repeated within a business before the upgrade are left as they are, and scanning one asks you to fix it; new repeats are refused.
- The installer is not code-signed yet, so Windows shows “unknown publisher”. See what to do.
Known limitations
- Debit notes are not yet exported as a separate GSTR document.
- Printer output, WhatsApp delivery and email delivery depend on your own printer and accounts; test them in your shop.
